COLNE have landed the plumb home draw with Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Barrow in the second round of the Lancashire FA Co-Operative Challenge Trophy.
Nigel Coates’ men, who beat Barrow’s cross-town neighbours Holker Old Boys in the first round, will face the former Football League side at the XLCR Stadium in the week commencing Monday, November 14.
It is a huge game for the Reds as they look to cause a major upset with a big crowd expected with the Bluebirds well supported on their travels.
The game is also likely to mark a return to the area for striker Louis Almond.
The Blackburn-born graduate of Mill Hill FC is on loan at Barrow from Blackpool.
Chorley will be strong favourites to ease past Ashton Athletic in their tie at Victory Park, while Padiham have a tasty home tie against Kendal.
Kendal, managed by former West Brom and Preston star Lee Ashcroft, beat Clitheroe in round one.
AFC Darwen are also at home and face a tough test against holders AFC Fylde.
The final will again be held at Bolton Wanderers.
Draw
Colne v Barrow, Burscough v Bamber Bridge, Chorley v Ashton Athletic, Padiham v Kendal Town, Wigan Robin Park v Squires Gate, AFC Darwen v AFC Fylde, Radcliffe Borough v Fleetwood Town, Lancaster City v Southport.
