Burnley will be forced into a striker reshuffle for Saturday's game against Wolverhampton Wanderers after Andy Gray's dismissal at Sheffield Wednesday.

The former Sheffield United forward is suspended after being sent off for kicking the ball away in the 90th minute following an off-side decision.

But his manager Steve Cotterill defended the Scotland international, saying: "Andy said he never heard it.

"There's 20-odd thousand people out there and I believe him.

"You have to know Andy to know whether you are going to believe him or not.

"I looked him in the eye and he's gutted. He said to me that I have not heard the whistle.

"I would have to say I would go along with him.

"Having said that, he's kicked the ball away and the rules say that the referee has to send him off.

"We have no problems with that whatsoever."
