Fulham striker Erik Nevland gave his side a half-time lead in their Barclays Premier League clash against Blackburn at Craven Cottage.

Rovers striker Franco di Santo missed the clearest opportunity in a first half short on quality and action - then Nevland struck just before the whistle.

Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson was not troubled before the opener - and he would have been disappointed with Nevland’s finish going in at the near post.

Di Santo also failed to get power on a close-range header after David Dunn’s free-kick was nodded into the danger area - but there was not much to warm up the freezing fans at Fulham’s stadium by the Thames.

The supporters tried to liven things up with a hopeful penalty shout when Ryan Nelsen chested the ball in his area - but Stuart Attwell waved play on and there were no complaints from Fulham fans.

Jason Roberts at least tried his luck with a turn and shot, although Schwarzer saved easily. The Rovers striker also curled wide just before the opener.

Nevland’s goal came just before the break. Zamora flicked on for him, then he exchanged passes with Duff before firing past Paul Robinson at the near post.
