DAVID Dunn insists Blackburn Rovers have nothing to lose as he looks to end their Emirates Stadium hell on Sunday.

Rovers have lost every Premier League clash at Arsenal since the Gunners moved to their new home in 2006, with a 0-0 FA Cup draw their only relative success, but Dunn has warned the Londoners should not take them for granted.

Rovers have conceded 12 goals in their three league games at the Emirates and have lost their last six Premier League games at Arsenal, having scored just two goals since a 2-1 win in October 2002.

Sunday’s trip to Arsenal is the start of a nightmare October for Sam Allardyce’s men, with away games at Chelsea and Manchester United to follow, but Rovers’ in-form midfielder insists it is a challenge to relish.

Dunn said: “We have nothing to lose. They are top teams and their wage bills are phenomenal. We know we are up against it.

“But if we go there, set our stall out and are hard to beat and go into the game with the same determination as what we did against Aston Villa, we are more than capable of getting something against these teams.

“We will be not going down there to roll over. We will be going there to have a go and try our best to get the right result.

“If we can keep it tight, we are always a danger from set pieces. The majority of the time set pieces are the difference between winning and losing. Most goals are scored of set pieces.”

Dunn’s late winning penalty against high-flying Aston Villa on Saturday lifted ten man Rovers out of the Premier League relegation zone and Allardyce’s men will be desperate to build on that impressive home win.

He has now scored three goals this season, playing in the hole behind a lone striker, a position Dunn admits is his preferred role.

He said: “We would have been more than happy with the draw once we were reduced to 10 men but obviously it was great to get the three points because we have a really tough October ahead.

“I am enjoying playing just behind the striker at the moment and hopefully I can keep scoring goals. To be honest though as long as I am playing, I will play anywhere.”
