BURNLEY will begin their Carling Cup assault with a second round trip to League One outfit Hartlepool United.
And the Clarets will be looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Pools at Turf Moor in a Carling Cup First Round tie back in August 2006.
Back then, Joel Porter scored the only goal of the game with a 78th minute penalty.
Hartlepool booked their spot against Owen Coyle's men after a shock 1-0 victory after extra-time at Championship side Coventry City.
For the Clarets, they will be looking for a repeat of last year's Carling Cup heroics, when they beat Fulham, Chelsea and Arsenal en-route to reaching the semi-finals, where they were narrowly ousted by Tottenham.
The tie will be played on the week commencing August 24.
