OWEN Coyle is hoping Burnley can reach a compensation agreement for summer signings David Edgar and Richard Eckersley with their respective former clubs.
Under the Bosman ruling, money must be paid to both Newcastle, for defender Edgar (22), and Manchester United, for full-back Eckersley (20), because of their age, even though they were both out of contract.
“We’ve been speaking to both clubs and, without agreeing, we are a little bit closer,” said Coyle.
“All clubs are always looking to settle before getting involved in a tribunal and dialogue is continuing.”
