Neil Harris believes Rovers have tried to ‘evolve’ as a team and the Millwall boss is predicting a tough game for his side at Ewood Park this afternoon.
Tony Mowbray is looking to close the gap to the top six this season with Harris believing Rovers possess a squad capable of being competitive in the Championship.
Millwall are in to their third season in the Championship after promotion from League One in 2017/18, one year ahead of Rovers who finished 15th last year, and are looking to progress themselves.
Harris, whose side drew 0-0 at Rovers 13 months ago, pinpointed the quality of Bradley Dack and insists the Lions will need to be at their best if they’re to come away with a positive result.
“Tony’s a very experienced manager and gets his team playing with a mix between good football and direct play,” he told Southwark News.
“He’s got some good players. They came up with a competitive budget and did well last year in the league.
“Tony’s tried to evolve his team a little bit over the summer, he’s let people go and brought some in, they have a big squad of players at this level to try to be competitive.
“It’s a tough fixture away from home. We’re looking forward to it, it should be an excellent game.
“Blackburn play high-tempo football, get after the ball and move it quickly.
“Bradley Dack off the front is a super player. We have to make sure we’re at our best because they are a team that can cause you problems at this level.”
Millwall have nine points from their six games so far, with two draws and a defeat in their three away fixtures.
They drew with West Brom and Middlesbrough on their travels, but were beaten 4-0 by Fulham, their only defeat to date.
