Joe Grayson has signed a new two-and-a-half year deal at Rovers.

Grayson, whose previous deal was set to expire next summer, has agreed fresh terms through to 2021.

The defender, who has been with the club for the last 12 years, made his first team debut in the Carabao Cup win over Lincoln City in August.

He has become a regular for Damien Johnson’s Under-23s side who won promotion to Premier League 2 last season.

Son of former Rover Simon, Grayson is relishing a bright future at the club.

He said: “I come into training every day and enjoy it. I obviously made my debut, which was an unbelievable feeling and probably the proudest moment of my life, and now to stay here for another two-and-a-half years is what I've always wanted.

“I've been here for 12 years and when you first join all you think about is playing for the first team. Now I just want to kick on and hopefully make more appearances.

“I just want to keep improving and hopefully get more first team experience - whether that's here or out on loan - but I'll certainly keep working hard every day in training to make that happen.”
