HAVING gone nearly a year without winning a game Burnley made it back-to-back victories following an 11-try romp against Manchester Medics.
After last week’s 45-15 win at neighbouring Clitheroe in the Lancashire County First Division, Burnley were in cup action against a Medics side they were playing for the first time.
And it was the visitors who came off slightly worse for wear as Burnley produced a scintillating display of running rugby despite the efforts of Storm Callum to disrupt proceedings.
The Holden Road club were on top from the start and led 31-3 at the break playing into a gale force wind with tries from Danny Rowland, Alex Woodcock and a Marcus Duxbury brace.
With the wind behind them, Burnley ran riot with tries from Adam Spencer, Danny Rowland, a Carl Griffiths brace and a hat-trick from Will Farnworth.
In difficult conditions, Rick Griffiths added six conversions in a 69-8 win.
On Saturday, Burnley who are sixth in the table, are home to North Manchester.
