First up, this week I think we need to take Strictly Come Dancing off the air.

I’m sorry, I tried to get into the mood of things and watched a full hour this week but I just could not see the point.

Some people learn to dance and then do so in front of a live studio audience?

I must say I hated this show before and I hate it even more now. Am I alone? It seems so.

Earlier this week I spoke to several people who said it was wrong to say anything against Strictly Come Dancing.

It was after all – ‘riveting stuff’.

I think not. I like the odd dance every now and then and have been known to do a cool Singing in the Rain impression but I find the amount of time spent saying how great this show is is a complete waste of time.

How we wait with baited breath to see who got the most points and who will be voted off. Makes you wish there was Big Brother on the other channel.

Secondly, There are those who say we should always be content with what we are given when we visit someone’s home.

Unfortunately, I am not one of them.

I have always tended to fall into that group of guests who is not quite happy unless I get my own way.

Take for example my latest gripe – the custard cream biscuit.

Now, I’m not going too much into this ‘issue’ but there tends to be too many of these biscuits about.

These in my opinion are the cheapest, nastiest biscuits around and should be taken off the shelves.

Are people being forced to buy custard creams?

Is it a mother – daughter thing that is passed down through generation?

When I visit someone’s house I always pray that when the tea comes out I will get some Jaffa Cakes or even some of those chocolate fingers.

But what do I get – custard creams.

Someone once told me they are put in front of guests the host has a dislike for.

I have also heard it is not about the biscuits but a matter of principle.

And custard creams are a part of the tradition.

But things must change.

So here’s a little bit of advice please please please don’t serve any more custard creams to your guests.

They are simply not wanted.
