For the last six weekends I have taken my four-year-old son for a walk through the lodges on Watery Lane, Darwen, to feed the ducks, finishing in Whitehall Park for some old-fashioned fun on the playground.
On each occasion we have had to dodge between four and eight lumps of dog mess between Watery Lane and Bolton Road. On three occasions, my son has trodden in the mess.
Recently, in Whitehall Park, we were greeted by the sight of 30-40 discarded and smashed empty beer bottles. The playground has five visible empty bins, Could I please ask, if you are a dog owner or a parent of these mindless idiots, to clean up your mess and use the bins provided?
