WOULD-BE anglers in Lancashire are being the chance to join in the sport by fishing the area's rivers and canals.
British Waterways is encouraging angling amateurs and enthusiasts alike to grab a rod and get fishing as part of National Fishing Week, which runs from August 19 to 28.
Amateur anglers can contact their local British Waterways office and inquire about angling taster coaching sessions covering good angling techniques, etiquette and highlighting safety issues whilst angling on the UK's canal's and rivers.
British waterways' North west General Manager, Debbie Lumb, said: "Angling is becoming more popular and National Fishing Week is a great way of giving local people a taste for angling.
"Our local events which take place confirm our commitment to local angling initiatives."
