A COMPETITION to find the friendliest folk in the country hasn't had a single entry from Lancashire.
People who have come into contact with nice people were asked to nominate them for a "Hands of Friendship" award. But, while many other parts of the country were quick to put forward contenders, there have been none from the Red Rose county, say organisers.
A special website was set up to accept nominations in July and early August at www.handoffriendship. com Now those running the competition are extending the entry period, giving more time for friendly Lancashire folk to get involved.
Organiser Patricia Murchie said: "We believe it is time to focus on people with a smile on their faces - people who always seem to be there to support other people in times of trouble."
Visit the website, or call 01932 336161, for an entry form.
