THE owner of a five-year-old polecat named Edgar stolen during a burglary has been re-united with her unusual pet.

Edgar was stolen along with other items including a bike and fishing equipment when the shed at a family home in Nancy Street was broken into.

The break-in happened two weeks ago but after an appeal in the Lancashire Telegraph owner Nicola Miller has had all her items returned.

Nicola, 29, was today over the moon to have Edgar back.

The bike was found last week in a field.

And officers received an anonymous call following the Telegraph appeal and found the items at a near-by address.

Three people have been arrested and bailed and one person is still being sought by police in connection with the incident.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Darwen police on 01254 353 830.
