A NEW nightclub has opened in Accrington with thousands of revellers attending in the first two weekends.
Industry nightclub, in Church Street, saw more than 600 people turn up on its opening night last week.
It was officially opened by Hyndburn Mayor Coun Mohamed Rahman.
The nightspot is the brain-child of Mohammed Mukhtar and Thair Iqbal who converted a former shop into a two-storey venue.
Mr Mukhtar, 29, said: "The first weekend was a great success and people keep coming up to me and saying they were overjoyed."
Industry is an over-21s venue playing R&B, dance and pop music.
The business partners bought the property for £200,000 and spent £300,000 refurbishing it.
Accrington now has two nightclubs, with Lar-de-dars in Eagle Street, although it is thought Opium, in Willow Street, which was gutted by fire in 2004, could reopen later this year.
