A DARWEN woman is encouraging schools and organisations to boost their funds by recycling their clothes.

Louise Sears, 30, of St John's Avenue, set up The Cute Clothing Company and is asking groups to fill recycling bags in return for a payment per kilo for their funds.

Louise, who runs the business from her home, makes her profit by selling on the clothes to recycling companies.

She will soon be expanding her business with two members of staff at a unit in Hampden Mill, Darwen, after receiving a £1,500 grant from Blackburn with Darwen Council's Get Set scheme.

She said: "I am obviously making some money from this but it is also a great way for scout groups and schools to raise some cash for unwanted clothing.

"If it takes off then I may need to employ even more people."
