Two enterprising women took a big risk in setting up their new business neither one had ever run a cafe bar before!

The Addict Internet Cafe is the brainchild of Nighat Anwar and Sue Bangue who decided it was time their town had a stylish and modern internet cafe.

Despite not knowing anything about the industry the two graduates have seen their venture go from strength to strength in a short space of time.

Sue said, We both had a vision about setting up a vibrant and modern place where people would be able to dine out in style.

It took over five months to get the layout and design just the way we wanted it.

People are shocked when we tell them we designed every single little detail in the premises ourselves.

We didnt have any exerience of running a food outlet before but we did have a good understanding of food hygiene and customer service and thankfully things have gone to plan.

Within the first three months weve exceeded all our expectations. Customers have been impressed with both the range of food we offer and the unique atmosphere.

The Addict Internet Cafe, based in Simmons Street is the first of its kind in Blackburn Town Centre and can also be hired out for small parties and corporate functions.

Nighat said, On the internet side customers can either use one of screens or hook up their laptops.

Work by local artists is on display and people can place a bid for some of the pictures on the walls. Students from Blackburn College also have some of their work on display.

Nighat added, It was difficult to get the venture off the ground at first but weve had good support from local business support services.

Our advice would be to anyone thinking of starting a business is if you believe in something just go for it and always try to stay optimistic.
