A BLACKBURN duo stormed to the top of an ethnic music chart. Nas-T and Mirza MC collaborated with Nasir Khan from Burnley to take his debut single Sodhnai Nain to number one in the Zee TV music charts, where it stayed for three consecutive weeks.

Nas-T, real name Naseem Khan, said: "We were all buzzing. I was getting phone calls left right and centre from people congratulating us. We obviously had a feeling it would do well but we had no idea it would stay in the charts for as long as it has."

And they were both heavily involved in Nasir Khan's debut album Sensation, an east meets west style of hip hop, dance and traditional music, which was released this week on the Pan Rhythm Productions label.

His own solo album, 2 Advance, is out this month while Mirza MC, (Gazanfer Mirza), is set to release his album early in the new year.

Nas-T and Mirza MC, both former pupils at Pleckgate High School, have been travelling all over the country DJing and MCing for over five years, working with music giants Trevor Nelson and Mis-Teeq and Asian greats Adnan Sami and Hadiqa Kiani.

As well as producing their own music the two 26-year-olds have also compiled tunes for several Indian films.
