Eid celebrations have become almost farcical for many Muslims.
It is correct that now the first words from our mouths are not Eid Mubarak but Is it your Eid today? or When did you do Eid?
It is even more embarassing explaining this to non-Muslims.
You would think that mosques could resolve this issue but no, year after year the same thing happens. It is ashame I cannot celebrate Eid on the same day as many of my friends.
It is brave of Mr Hamid Qureshi the Chairman of the Lancashire Council of Mosques (LCM) to at least try to comment on the issue. But should not the LCM be doing so more to make sure this issue is resolved?
We are being told that we must be united and portray a postitive image of Islam but we cant even agree the day of our most important festival.
