A MAN attacked a teenage mother in the street, Burnley magistrates were told.
The bench heard Dominic Slater, 20, put his hands to the 16-year-old's neck as she sat on a bench in Burnley town centre.
He then walked off but went back and kicked her legs.
Slater, of Branch Road, Burnley, admitted common assault.
He was given a six month community order with supervision. He must also pay £75 costs.
David Macro, prosecuting, said the victim was outside McDonald's.
He and the defendant argued, he became agitated and put his hands to her neck.
Slater then walked off, went back and kicked her and then left again, shouting abuse.
Mr Macro said Slater told police the girl had taunted him and he grabbed her in frustration. He regretted his actions.
John Nuttall, defending, said Slater, who was on benefits, was deeply ashamed and apologised for his conduct.
