WITH regards to the incident when some Muslim pupils were given pizza with ham, I write to inform you that the Lancashire Council of Mosques has been in contact with St James CE Primary School, Blackburn.
The mistake was unfortunate and the school has already admitted to it and apologised to the students and parents affected by this incident.
Now is the time to forgive and move on.
The Lancashire Council of Mosques is already working with St James' School within our Faith and Cultural Awareness Project, funded by Blackburn with Darwen Children Services, and we will endeavour to work with the school on this issue too.
The school is now working with its local Muslim community and has launched a full investigation into how this mistake was made.
Lancashire Council of Mosques is dedicated to promoting mutual understanding and community cohesion in schools and the wider community.
Coun SALIM MULLA, General Secretary, Lancashire Council of Mosques.
