A RAGING man beat his disabled partner after a day's drinking, complaining she had not washed up and calling her lazy.

Burnley magistrates heard Christopher Michael Greenall, 26, told the victim Michelle Edwards he expected her to clean the house all the time.

He then grabbed her, their heads "clashed together" and she ended up on the floor.

Greenall, who before the attack had been hurling ashtrays and cans of lager around the house, was arrested and admitted to police he had called Miss Edwards a "lazy slag".

Greenall, care of Albion Street, Burnley, admitted assault by beating. He was jailed for 42 days and must pay £50 compensation.

Stephen Parker, prosecuting, said Miss Edwards and the defendant had been together for a year and the relationship had become turbulent. Greenall had mental health problems but refused to take medication.

Brian Walsh, defending, said Greenall knew he needed help.
