When The Coral formed a decade ago, they started with Oasis covers. This year they toured with those childhood heroes across Europe, as well as releasing a third full-length album. The Invisible Invasion. The Wirral wizards round off 2005 with a gig in Lancaster on December 14.
For a band with a reputation as being rather shambling and flaky indie types, their work-rate is prodigious - there's been ten singles, three albums and a mini-album so far, yet the oldest member in the seven-piece band is still only 24.
Like some wheeling cultural kaleidoscope, they thrown everything from Hemingway to Huckelberry Finn into the mix, making something that's eclectic yet accessible.
The Coral play the Sugar House in Lancaster on Wednesday, December 14. Tickets are £15.
