BRETT Emerton has warned Chelsea that Blackburn Rovers are ready to dish out the Old Trafford treatment,

Rovers' 2-1 victory at Manchester United last month proves that they can rock the big clubs on their own patch.

And the fact that Chelsea, who only dropped their first points of the season with a draw at Everton last weekend, are on the back of 39 unbeaten Premiership games isn't denting Rovers' belief they can pull off another upset.

"We've gone to Manchester United and won there so we won't fear going to Chelsea," said Emerton, who made a scoring return to the first 11 in the 3-0 Carling Cup win over Leeds on Tuesday.

"Chelsea are a great team and I don't think they are going to let that 1-1 draw at the weekend affect them too much. It's going to be a very tough game for us.

"But I think we make it hard for a lot of teams so we'll just go there, do our best and see what comes."

The last time Rovers scored three in a Carling Cup time, as they did in midweek, they followed it up with that 2-1 victory at Manchester United.

But it won't be omens they are relying on against the champions; it's their own self-confidence, which is soaring after fives wins in their last six games.

Emerton said: "We want to keep the run going and stay there for the rest of the season."
