RESULTS are good, goals are flying in and confidence is high. The question is - can anyone stop them? No, not Chelsea. Blackburn Rovers.

Okay, so Mark Hughes isn't sitting on a six-point lead at the top of the Premiership.

And he isn't going into tomorrow's game against his former club looking for a 40th successive Premiership game without defeat.

Such prestige is still reserved for his opposite number, Jose Mourinho, who will no doubt be confident of making it 10 wins in 11 tomorrow.

But a win for Blackburn would give them six wins in seven, and such a fine run of form is giving Hughes and his players the type of belief that was missing when they last went to Chelsea just over a year ago.

They are even in better Premiership form than Chelsea, given that they took three points against Birmingham at the weekend, while the Blues dropped their first points of the season with a 1-1 draw at Everton.

And Rovers have the extra bonus of still being in the Carling Cup following their 3-0 midweek win over Leeds, while Chelsea relinquished their grip on the trophy a day later by losing to Charlton on penalties.

It's a far cry from last October when Blackburn went to Stamford Bridge bottom of the table and were lucky to escape with just a 4-0 thrashing on a glum afternoon.

But the revolution Hughes has matserminded since is summed up in no better way than by the man himself when he says: "We feel we can win every game we take part in and that won't change at the weekend.

"We are confident and it's a good time for us so I hope I'll be saying that after the Chelsea game as well.

"Chelsea are an exceptional side at the moment but we don't fear anybody and we'll go in with the same attitude.

"We will be up against a team of the highest quality and there will be occasions where we have to be strong and solid, which we always are, so I'm looking forward to it."

The most encouraging aspect of Rovers' preparation for tomorrow is the fact that they are able to focus on their own game.

It would be all too easy to think of things like John Terry sending every cross back where it came from, Frank Lampard driving through midfield to add to his eight Premiership goals this season, or Shaun Wright-Phillips scorching down the wing and producing a pinpoint cross for Didier Drogba - and panic.

But Rovers are now building an aura of their own, so much so that confidence is coursing through their veins with the speed that Craig Bellamy springs off the subs' bench.

His 53rd minute introduction turned the Leeds tie on its head on Tuesday as he set up all three goals, an impact that's secured another appearance tomorrow.

But whether Hughes is tempted to unleash him on the champions from the start remains an unresolved issue.

"It's a decision I have to think on but the fact that it's Chelsea won't really change my decision," said Hughes.

"If I feel it's not right for him to have 90 minutes then he won't play the 90 minutes but certainly at some point he will be on the pitch I'm sure."
