OLYMPIC silver medallist boxer Amir Khan has backed Michael Jennings to compete on the world stage.
The 19-year-old was at Preston Guild Hall last night to see Chorley boxer Jennings retain the British welterweight title after a unanimous points victory over Welshman Bradley Pryce.
And light welterweight Khan, who is preparing for his own professional bout with Steve Gethin in Glasgow on November 5, says he was impressed by how Jennings recovered from an early count to win.
"It was a brilliant fight," he said. "It shows what I will be up against in the future.
"Michael worked hard for it and showed how fit he was to come back.
"He is a brilliant boxer and I'm sure he will be a world star."
