One of The White Stripes' most celebrated gigs took place in Lancashire last year. Now the Detroit duo are retracing their steps and playing two more dates at the Blackpool Empress Ballroom, starting on November 10.

The original Blackpool show, in January 2004, was recorded on ancient Super 8 home video cameras and released as the band's first ever DVD release. A live version of Jolene recorded that night came out as a single and hit the top 20.

Since then Jack and Meg White have released their fifth album, Get Behind Me Satan, which includes their top 10 singles Blue Orchid and My Doorbell.

This summer Jack also married Lancastrian model Karen Elson on a canoe in Brazil, with Meg as the maid of honour.

The band's latest single, The Denial Twist, will hit the shops the Monday after the Blackpool gigs.

The White Stripes play the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool on Thursday, November 10 and Friday, November 11. Tickets are sold out.
