BEARSUIT are 3 girls and 3 boys playing a joyous mix of Belle and Sebastian, Huggy Bear and Sonic Youth with electronic twists and turns, and screamy art punk. Catch them in Lancaster on October 28.

The Norwich indie types already have five singles, an EP and an album under their belts, with a second album Team Ping Pong on the way later this month.

They also notched up four Radio 1 sessions on the John Peel show and made three appearances in the top five of the legendary broadcaster's Festive 50.

Team Ping Pong covers subjects as wildly diverse as Star Wars, radiation poisoning, schoolgirl love trysts and accidentally electing a dictator.

That irreverence is also shown in their outlandish stage gear, which includes blood-soaked prom dresses, 'nurses of death' outfits and silver 'Bear-bot' uniforms.

Support comes from Envelopes, formerly known as The Nicotines, who feature four Swedes and a Parisian and recently recorded their first proper album in rural North Yorkshire.

Bearsuit and Envelopes play the Farmers Arms in Lancaster on Friday, October 28. Admission is £5.
