TALENTED Amy Hawkins is a runner-up in the National Young Designers Awards sponsored by leading electrical manufactures Texet.
The 11-year-old from Newton Westpark Primary School in Leigh beat of hundreds of entrants from across Britain to be short-listed in a national competition to design a calculator for the future.
Amy impressed the judges with an innovative design that earned her lots of Texet goodies.
The competition for under 12 year olds generated ideas for future calculators including spy detection, weather reports and sweet dispensers.
Delighted Amy said: "I am so pleased to have been a finalist and that people liked my design. I can't wait to get onto by next design project."
