YOUNG engineers Warren Lyons and Samuel Smith are almost the best in Britain.
The talented duo, built a bridge out of paper tissue that would hold a two pound weight, then crafted a tissue tower with a rotating cafe on top. Their creations placed them first in the area and regional sections of the Young Engineer for Britain competition.
Bickershaw Primary School head Paul Radcliffe spotted Warren's and Samuel's talent and entered them for the competition which saw them take a brilliant second place out of a staggering 52,000 entries from throughout Britain.
Now at Westleigh High School, Warren and Samuel travelled to London for the two-day national final. There they were delighted to earn runner-up spot with their motorised transporter which carried two wooden aeroplane wings from a hangar, out to an aircraft on the runway.
