THE challenges just keep coming for Accrington Stanley and young midfielder Andy Procter is loving every minute of it.

It has been a week that has seen them despatch League outfit Huddersfield Town from the FA Cup last Sunday and then beat Conference leaders Hereford United on Tuesday night, and it is not over as the Reds now face a trip to Stevenage Borough on Saturday.

The fixture pits Stanley, in seventh place, with the team directly below them in the division, but Borough were also first round FA Cup giant-killers last week when two goals from Dino Maaria saw them oust second division Stockport County 2-1 at Broadhall Way.

"Stevenage have picked up a bit of late so we know we are in for another tough game," said Procter.

"But the reason we are all in this is because we want to be playing challenging games every week and, apart from the fact I am sick of travelling up and down the motorways, this is another good challenge."

Great Harwood product Procter has been one of the revelations of the season for Stanley.

Unlike those around him in the form of Paul Cook, Andy Gouck and Gordon Armstrong, for Procter the Conference is a step up, and he is handling elevation to a higher tier with great confidence, as his performances have shown.

But the midfielder is just happy to be in a side that is proving that they are very capable of setting themselves a good standard and then improving on it - this week being a case in point.

"Believe me there were a few tired limbs out on that pitch during the Hereford game, but it has been the best possible week that we could have had," said Procter.

"We had a great result on Sunday, but the manager warned us that we couldn't afford to be a let down against Hereford. I think we have shown in that game that the lads have got the right attitude.

"But John Coleman is always telling us that we have nothing to fear from teams in this league. We are a good side and we've shown that we are a match for anyone, once we have one achievement to our credit then we have to make sure we build on that."
