RIVAL developers for the transformation of Whitefield town centre will go head-to-head in a public exhibition.

A special meeting of Whitefield and Unsworth Area Board will take place on Tuesday evening (nov 18)to examine two sets of proposals.

Plans on the table are from Dransfield Properties and David McLean Homes. Dransfield proposes a retail development, with a 75,000 sq ft Morrisons supermarket. McLean Homes wants a mixed use retail and housing development, including a 10,000 sq ft supermarket.

Representatives from both companies will be on hand at the meeting to present their ideas and answer questions.

The meeting will be held at 6.30pm at Elms Community Centre, Green Lane, Whitefield.

There will also be an exhibition from 1pm, providing residents with displays and information on both proposals.
