CHILDREN in Bury will benefit from a £103,000 boost.

Money from the National Lottery's New Opportunities Fund will be used to create 112 places for child care providers.

The four successful providers will cater for children between the ages of five and 11, in the Redvales and Whitefield wards of Bury.

The out of school club at Ribble Drive CP School, Whitefield, is run by a voluntary management committee and has been awarded £22,596 to be spent over two years, creating 24 places.The club at St Marie's RC school, Bury, is also run by a voluntary management committee and has been awarded two years' funding of £18,987. This too will create 24 places.

Bury College in partnership with the Neighbourhood Nursery will be able to create 24 before, after and holiday places with two years' funding of £49,875.

And Blue Skies Montessori nursery in Whitefield has been awarded £7,208 to create 12 holiday places.
