THE Preston born ringmaster of a bizzare stage show featuring Victorian-style 'freaks' is hoping to bring the unique show to his home town.

John Haze, know on stage as Doktor Haze, is a founding member of the Circus of Horrors.

The group, made up of strange characters including 'wasp boy' and a group of vampire ladies, have performed across the world in front of thousands of people including the Royal family.

They have appeared on television's Ant and Dec Saturday Night Takeaway and with Graham Norton while a tour of Japan saw performances with Eminem, Oasis and Travis.

Now John, 44, wants to bring his troupe to Preston.

Currently the stage show is preparing to entertain audiences at Blackburn's King George's Hall on Saturday, November 15.

The life-long PNE fan said: "We seem to go everywhere around Preston but not the city itself. But I'd love to play in Preston."

John, who claims his 'vampire' age is 533, started the bizarre circus in 1995 with a performance at the Glastonbury Festival.

His circus performing parents met in the ring but split up when John was a baby. Until the age of 12 he lived with his mother in Avenham Road, until his father returned, and the family went on the road with the circus.

Fire-eating John, who lives in London, said: "The Moscow State Circus is at the Guild Hall next year and I would like to bring the circus of horrors down as well."
