YOUNGSTERS Asad Shah and Talia Roberts joined cartoon favourites Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck as Burnley's big Christmas lights switch-on was held in the town centre.
Crowds braved the weather to turn out in their hundreds for the event, which included a fun fair, roadshow and fireworks display.
Father Christmas was on hand to help people get into the festive spirit and was joined on the stage at the bandstand by the Mayor, Coun Lilian Clark.
Asad, 11, and Talia, seven, joined Bugs and Daffy to flick the switch to light up the town centre ready for the yuletide season. The two youngsters were the winners of a competition held to find people to turn on the display.
The Brunshaw Twirlers dance group also laid on a display and Bertie Bee and Bumble took time out from official mascot duties at Turf Moor to join the fun.
