MARCUS Orrell, from Rosegrove, has just returned back from skiing in Austria, a race training camp run by his very own coaches.

Marcus received two letters on his return, one asking him to be in the English Schoolboys' Junior Squad which will race in Italy in March 2004, and also to attend the Lancs Young Sports Personalities 2003, hosted by the Lancashire Playing Fields Association who have sponsored the event.

He has won numerous medals and trophies throughout the year and also won 1st under 12 boy in the English School Ski Association regional rounds for the North West.

He has won the overall speciality pie award, four gold medals and five silver - but he still insisted it was a bad year because he won six golds and three silvers last year.

Stephen took the trophy for his pork and apple special pie, his secret of his success being that pies are all homemade.
