FYLDE skipper, Dylan O'Grady, has been banned by his club for 10 weeks after his sending off in the stormy clash against New Brighton last weekend.

Former Irish international O'Grady will serve the ban irrespective of the outcome of an RFU disciplinary hearing due to consider the matter, which ended with police being called to the Woodlands Ground.

Fylde say they have always had a responsible attitude to player discipline and will continue to handle such matters internally ahead of any RFU action.

Meanwhile, first team coach, Dean Kenny, is quitting the club due to personal and business commitments.

The former All Black, in charge since the beginning of the 2001/02 season, will be replaced by ex-Scotland hooker, Martin Scott and current backs coach, Stuart Connell, for the time being.

The club's director of rugby development, Graham Smith, said: "Dean has made a major contribution to the Club in the past few years. Everyone at the Woodlands wishes him well for the future."

Scott added: "As I come towards the end of my playing career I'm keen to try coaching. Fylde is a great club and I've enjoyed my five seasons here.

"I'm delighted to try to pass on some of my long experience to the younger players".

In a busy week of ins and outs at the club, forward, Aaron Rameka, has unexpectedly returned to New Zealand for family reasons.

The mobile back rower has impressed in his eight games at the Woodlands, scoring three tries, and club bosses are hoping he may yet be back.

First Team Manager, Steve Rigby, said: "Aaron was a real capture.

"If his personal circumstances allow, we would welcome him back to the Club with open arms."
