PRESTWICH Thai Boxing Club's Becky Berry is the new ISKA English championship holder.
Radcliffe-based Becky, who is trained by Rick Lewis at the Bodytalk gym in Whitefield, clinched the title in the fifth round of what was a thrilling bout in Birkenhead.
Judges scored the first four rounds a draw but a right high kick caught her opponent - and the judges' eyes - to clinch her the prestigious award.
Also successful on the same night was the club's up-and-coming Ste Rogerson, another Radcliffe competitor who, along with 21-year-old Becky, is hoping to fight on Master Sken's show in February for a North West title.
At the same event Becky will be challenging for the British crown and is already rated second in the country with only world champion Lisa Houghton in front of her in the official rankings.
