WATCH out Alex Ferguson, move over Andy Preece, twelve local football coaches have successfully completed their Level 1 Certificat in Coaching Football.

The course was organised and delivered through Bury Metro Sports Development Unit, in conjunction with Manchester County FA and Bury Football Club.

The Level 1 CCF was delivered at Bury FC and Goshen Sports Centre and gave candidates an opportunity to access professional facilities to learn and develop their coaching skills.

All the successful candidates are involved within junior football in the area and the certificate is the first step towards becoming a recognised football coach.

It qualifies participants to coach grass roots club teams for children and young people under the the supervision of a qualified football coach.

Bury MBC Sports Development Unit's Robin Philp said: "This is the first course of it's kind to be delivered in Bury and has been an overwhelming success.

"Everyone did well in completing it and we hope to run others in the future.

"Raising the standard of coaching is important to ensure that all children involved receive safe, ethical and effective football coaching from qualified, competent coaches."
