STEVE Wilkes has to lift himself up from his lowest point following his team's embarrassing exit from the Lancashire FA Marsden Trophy on Tuesday.
Darwen were winning 3-0 with 20 minutes to go in their first round tie at home to NWCL Division One side Squires Gate before collapsing in spectacular style to lose 4-3.
Wilkes said: "They've embarrassed themselves and I have to say this is the lowest I've been for some time.
"We were cruising for three-quarters of the game and then it was absolute pandemonium once they scored. "
Victory over a side a division above them would have given Darwen renewed confidence for their return to NWCL Division Two action tomorrow.
They lost last Saturday's league game 2-1 at Ashton Town and a week earlier crashed out of another cup competition by a 4-3 scoreline, this time to Curzon Ashton in the League Challenge Cup.
Struggling Oldham Town are the visitors to the Anchor Ground tomorrow (3pm).
