MAY I congratulate the relevant authority for this year's bumper crop of 20 new speed cameras.
Standing there like giant yellow electric 'triffids,' many major roads in and around Blackburn now have at least one camera site.
While I do realise that speeding is a criminal offence and if you stay within the limits you will be legal, it's a pity a similar purge against other non-motoring crimes is not as apparent, for while I have seen a major increase in the number of camera sites I have not seen a similar increase in the number of police patrols, by foot or by car, on the streets.
