RECENTLY we were promised a review of community centres and provisions for the whole of the borough. Publication was promised for the end of October.
We were then told this had been delayed and it was then announced at a council meeting that four community centres are to have large amounts of money spent on them.
The public should be aware of where the money is to be spent -- Accrington Road, £77,500, Ivy Street £87,500, Bank Top £79,150 and Audley (right) £249,952.
We, as the Conservative group, listen to the public in many areas of Blackburn and Darwen where there is no community provision, yet the Labour group continually spend large sums of money on the same community centres.
We believe that the needs of the whole borough should be catered for and not the small number of Labour wards where their cup overflows on a regular basis.
