POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man attempted to hold up a security van.
A Securitas guard was attacked after collecting money from Daneshouse Health Centre, Daneshouse Road, Burnley.
The man demanded money from him, but the security guard managed to lock himself in the back of the van.
After banging on the door of the vehicle the offender gave up and made off empty-handed.
He is described as white, in his mid-20s, with fair hair. He was wearing a blue or dark hooded sweatshirt, with the hood up.
Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at around 11.40am on Friday, November 14, is asked to call Burnley CID on 01282 472144, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
