PEOPLE interested in finding out more about the history of their townspeople have one week left to go along to an exhibition of local church war memorials at Darwen Library.
The exhibition, organised by the Imperial War Museum and Darwen Camera Club, will be open to the public until the weekend.
The 50 mounted photographs, which have been taken by members of the camera club, will then be given to the town as a permanent memorial to the hundreds of names represented on war memorials in Darwen Churches.
The project has been funded through the Lloyds Trust and all the photographs will be made available on CD-Roms for sale, with any proceeds going to the Darwen Royal British Legion.
The public will also be able to view the photographs on Blackburn with Darwen Council's website.
The Imperial War Museum was looking for records of church memorials as there was no photographic record of the heritage of local church memorials.
Darwen Camera Club was asked if they could take photographs of the various memorials for the Darwen exhibition.
