ALSAGER ...2 BACUP BOROUGH ...5
BACUP Borough rocked Alsager with a stunning five star first-half performance.
On 16 minutes Lee Anderson made a long clearance which finished with the home keeper averting the danger by racing from his line and clearing the ball long. Bacup's Darren Emmett stood on the halfway line when the ball dropped to him and struck the ball back over their 6ft 2ins keeper into the net.
Giggs was fouled after rounding the keeper and captain Steve Stott converted from the penalty spot.
Karl Stanley made it 3-0 on 40 minutes with a chip over the keeper.
Just when Bacup were going into cruise control a wrong decision by keeper Tommy Allen gave the home side a lifeline in the second half as they scored.
Alsager grabbed a second before Bacup completed the win.
