BLACKBURN Cathedral Drama Group presents On Monday Next, a comedy by Philip King, in the cathedral crypt on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, November 25, 26 and 27.
The play is set on the stage of the Theatre Royal, Drossmouth, during a rehearsal of a new play to be presented "on Monday next" and recalls the weekly repertory companies which flourished in provincial theatres in the '40s and early '50s before the spread of television.
The experienced cast includes Michael Taylor, Barbara Robb, Jackie Fielding, Jade Bentley, Naome Wolfendale, Clare Wolfendale and Joan Hunwick.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the play will be presented as a theatre/ supper at an inclusive cost of £9, with supper served at 6pm and the performance starting at 7.30pm. On Thursday there will be the performance only at 7.30pm, tickets costing £5. Tickets at £5 are also available for the performances on Tuesday and Wednesday. Call (01254) 233492 for details.
