THREE months of storytelling comes to an end next week when work created by children during the last three months goes on display.

Two professional storytellers, Pauline Bennett and Honor Giles, have been holding storytelling workshops in the Sudellside area and Highercroft for local groups and schools.

The scheme, co-ordinated by Blackburn with Darwen Council and local libraries, is at the end of its third session of four three-month residencies.

The storytellers, who will be reading tales which have been written by the children during the scheme and displaying pictures they have drawn to go with them, will hold a special workshop at Roman Road library on Saturday, November 29.

It will take place between 11am and 1pm and is open to children, parents and carers, and an exhibition will remain for a short time.

Pauline said: "This is a culmination of the storytelling residencies.

"Blackburn's arts services has organised four three-month residencies. This is the third, which finishes at the end of November.

"Storytelling is a lot about telling but we have also been able to get some visual things together.

"We are both professional storytellers and we just applied when the job was put out.

"We have both enjoyed working with the communities and getting to know the area, and discovering so many talented storytellers among them."
