CHILDREN'S minister Margaret Hodge arrives in Bury on Tuesday (Nov 25) to open the country's first super nursery.
She will formally unveil the new £700,000 building at Hoyle Nursery School, the borough's only council-run nursery which has been going since the early 1970s.
Last year the nursery won Early Excellence Centre status from the Government and with its transformation and extended service will now be known as Hoyle Early Years Centre.
The nursery provides education and care for up to 85 children each day and adult learning facilities are also on site. The school also works with children with communication difficulties including autism, with a team of 22 staff led by head teacher Mrs Clare Barker.
The new building is an award-winning design chosen by a panel of eminent professionals including Sir Nicholas Serota, chairman of the Tate Gallery, and architect Sir Richard Rogers.
Hoyle is one of only three such sites in the country, and is the first to be completed.
