FIT at 50 could very well be the motto for a group of ladies living on the Hillock estate in Whitefield.
The feisty group have set up an over 50s exercise group with the help of an award from the Millennium Fund.
Around 25 women attend classes at St Andrew's Church hall on Monday afternoons and they leave glowing, tired but happy!
One of three women who helped set up the group, Joan Humphreys (66) said: "We heard about the Millennium Award on the radio and as we have no activities on the estate we decided to go for it. We decided an exercise class was a good idea and it gives us a wonderful opportunity to do some exercise and have fun at the same time."
Joan was helped by friends Joan Coates and Joyce Strickland and the award of £1,745 enables them to employ a fitness instructor.
