A NEW major speculative office development in Bury is already emerging as a mecca for business.

For only three months after the launch of Waterfold Business Park, two units totalling 8,000 sq ft have been pre-sold.

The news has been announced by by the Seddon Group, developers of the Waterfold site at junction 2 of the M66, where PC World and the Village Hotel are already occupiers. The scheme provides high specification office accommodation on a freehold or leasehold basis.

Chartered loss adjusters Buckley Scott Associates, who specialise in construction-related claims for the insurance industry and are the leading expert in contractors plant and machinery claims, have taken the first two units on a freehold basis.

The accommodation will be a new headquarters for the company which has grown rapidly over the last four years and, with a team of 12, requires more space for future expansion plans.

Jeremy Buckley, managing director, said: "Providing a national service to insurers means communication links are a vital factor to our operation and our new location at Waterfold will provide us with excellent access to the motorway network."

Work on phase one of Waterfold Business Park, which offers office accommodation ranging from 2,000 sq ft to 4,400 sq ft in self-contained units, is due for completion next month.

Construction work on the second speculative stage of 22,000 sq ft of office accommodation is due to start next year.
